I’m super new to riding and I was on my second time doing trails (1st time at Eagle Creek). I ended up cracking my clutch cover letting most of my trans oil out. I had to ditch my bike and walk back to the entrance.

When I got back, the “Old Man” (that’s what he likes to go by) that runs the place was going to ask the other rider (only one person riding because it was crazy hot that day) out on property to give me tow back.

While waiting for the other rider to get back, Old Man kept me company for quit a while. I learned the place has some really cool history.

Turns out that rider had broke down as well. Old Man then offered me use of his duct tape and some oil to limp me back. I was able to mend it enough to start riding back. While limping back, I ran across a couple of ATV riders on the trail that recently showed up to ride. While I was back and fixing my bike, Old Man asked them to see if I needed a tow if the duct tape didn’t work.

As for the riding, it was awesome. Not rutted out like the Dirty Turtle in Bedford.

Overall, I can’t believe how helpful and nice Old Man was! Not to mention the other riders that offered to help me as well. I’ll be sure to be more prepared the next ride.

Great facilities for a birthday party. We love to rent shelter 4 now. It’s RIGHT next to the bathrooms and the new playground, and far enough away from the main parts of the park that you can enjoy the privacy of your party.

Parks are poorly maintained. Very little in the way of nature trails, despite an abundance of wooded area. JB Miller park is so overgrown the trail is impassible at a certain point, so at least 50% of it is not usable. There are no public pools, the lakes are dirty and swimming is mostly banned. No wonder everyone in this town is hooked on drugs. There is nothing to do. My family and I will be moving as soon as humanly possible, and I know plenty of other people who are of the same mindset. Anything worth doing here is private and priced for those who make six figures. The rest of us are left with the decaying remains of a time when the government cared about its people. This place has no future, and local and state political officials have no desire or intention to invest in quality of life for residents. If you make above 40k a year and under 100k, do yourself a favor and relocate to a place that invests your tax money in making your life more tolerable, as opposed to stealing it, using it to prop up failing conglomerates (Answers in Genesis, anyone?), and letting everything else rot.

I’ve been here several times. I mainly fish for catfish, and occasionally bait fish. So I really don’t care for bass fishing, and I have caught some good size large mouth, and small mouth, not to mention a few crappie, and bluegill. The only thing I did not catch was catfish. The large and small mouths I caught, were complete accidents. And so was the crappies. But no matter, I was catching fish, and doing exactly the one thing that I really love to do. I love to fish, and I had a wonderful time. The banks were clean. The water looked clean. I have no complaints at all. I’ll be going back next year.
Please like and share.
See you on the banks.

Always great food. They are more than happy to make an order right and accommodate guests. Great place to throw a family reunion or tie the knot! Staff are friendly and care deeply about the park. I loved coming here as a kid and it was an honor to work here for 3 years (that was about 5 years ago). I still talk incredibly high about the place and will continue to visit as often as possible for A TRUE KENTUCKY HOT BROWN.

well, what can I say… so much potential for this park! Upon entering, a downhill slope was muddy and rutted and hard to find footing. Once at the lake, there was a short section of cut grass that allowed for easy travel, but once I tried to circumnavigate the lake, it became too overgrown to go through, with all sorts of low growth that touched and pricked and cut into my beautiful legs. 😉 I could only make it 1/8 of the way around before realizing I needed to turn back. With some TLC, this could be a gem of a park, but much needs to be done to get it there.

A peaceful community. This is a private membership driven location. The lake is the centerpiece and is perfect for anyone who lives to fish.

The only thing I have ever gone to Lloyd’s Wildlife Refuge for was to shoot. And it is a terrific place to do that! I’ve been to the rifle range, and it is very good. And I have been skeet shooting there, and they have a terrific facility for that as well. It did not make me shoot any better though.:-)

It’s a nice lake as long as you’re not fishing or want to catch fish. Straight doo doo water. Don’t waste your time.

i rode out to the park today for the first time in 20 plus years and i must say i’m completely disappointed in the direction in has gone. was trying to scout camp sites for next week just to discover they replaced the best ones with lots for horses…..the best ones…there is plenty of other areas that are not suitable for camping that could’ve been developed for horses. why remove the most ideal lots for campers to accommodate a dozen riders?! now the only places to camp are on hillsides…..hillsides! if that’s not discouraging enough.. swimming in the lake has been banned! the swimming beach…removed! my family would camp at the like twice a year when i was a kid…it was a big part of my childhood……that’s all ruined….and for what?! a dozen or so horse stalls and parking for horse trailers…..no summer heat alleviation in the lake with swimming. better keep that golf course in tip top shape or there wont be any income…. i will not be back.
