Ark Encounter – 1 Ark Encounter Dr, Williamstown, KY 41097, USA – +1 855-284-3275
Great experience overall. We spent all day there from open to close. Getting a wheel chair took forever, and that system was not disability friendly. Getting through the ark itself took a couple of hours and was very rewarding. We ate at the buffet, which was nice but crowded. There were tons of choices for all different food preferences. Being vegetarian and gluten sensitive, I found plenty to eat. My kids loved the camel ride, mining for fossils, and kangaroo petting. We got to see Ken Ham speak, which enhanced the experience. I’d recommend getting there as soon as it opens to take in everything. You can take the shuttle and get in the park area for free, without a ticket. There is so much to do, that if we had more time we might have gone back for the outside stuff. As it was, we felt we did everything we wanted in a day.

Our visit started off just right with free parking across the street. Admission covered this building and the state military history museum up the hill a few block away. Get there in time for a tour of the Old State Capitol building for the history of Frankfort and KY. The 200 yr history of the state will take at least 1 1/2 hrs to get it all in.

The art was all beautifully displayed. No photography is allowed though. Staff were very helpful and wonderful hosts. Highly recommend attending shows.

I am not a big history buff nor an I into architecture, but after driving past this place numerous times, decided to take a tour. What a fantastic attraction. Our docent, Ron, was amazing. Full of fun stories and interesting facts. I was surprised at how many kids were on our tour and they were fascinated by the stories Ron had to tell. A beautiful property that is just going to get better over time and the renovations continue. This mansion is massive and stunning. Words nor pictures cannot do it justice. I’m looking forward to going back to see the gardens in full bloom and then again at Christmas for the candlelight tour.

Beautiful home, fascinating history, unique all original furnishings and excellent tour guides. This was a spur of the moment recommendation from our Airbnb host that ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. If you’re interested in stepping into the past definitely step across the threshold and into the Dinsmore Homestead, you won’t be disappointed. The best $7 I spent the entire vacation.

I’ve been attending the Yoga program on Thursdays for over a year and started chair yoga recently with my elderly mother. Our flexibility has improved a hundredfold! We are so impressed with Debbie Angel the instructor. She teaches movements that are endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation which are great for every age! I would miss this class terribly if it went away.
