Northern Kentucky Montessori Center

Affiliated with the American Montessori Society & the International Montessori Council, NKMC provides 3 year full and half day educational programs for individual learning for children ages 3 - 6. Northern Kentucky Montessori Center (NKMC), founded in 1967, embraces the humanitarian educational principles of Dr. Maria Montessori, known for over a century to instill in young children inner discipline, self-motivation, self-confidence, and a love for learning. NKMC aspires to educate children who become respected citizens of the global community, while acknowledging individuality and encouraging independence.

NKMC offers half-day and full-day programs:

NKMC provides a three-year program of individualized learning that optimizes the intellectual, social and emotional development of each child. Children attend for a 3-year period, beginning at age three. Classrooms are comprised of mixed-aged groups, which is an important tenet of the Montessori approach.

Children are guided by degree holders and certified teachers who embrace the Montessori Philosophy. NKMC and its teachers are affiliated with both the American Montessori Society and the International Montessori Council.

The ongoing mission of Northern Kentucky Montessori Center is to embrace the educational tradition of Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy, known for over a century to instill in young children inner discipline, self-motivation, self-confidence and a love for learning. While acknowledging individuality and encouraging independence, NKMC aspires to educate children who become respected citizens of the global community. Founded in 1967 as a 501-C3 charitable organization, NKMC is committed to providing an enduring preschool alternative for area families and children.
