The Northern Kentucky Cooperative for Educational Services (NKCES)

The Northern Kentucky Cooperative for Educational Services (NKCES) was formed to assist school districts in addressing educational questions of the day. Services have been designed to respond to educational ideas and needs expressed by the school districts in the Northern Kentucky area.

NKCES is a service structure working exclusively for and at the direction of the local member school districts. NKCES works closely with the Kentucky Department of Education and collaborates with other educational cooperatives and a variety of other organizations to promote understanding and to provide mutual benefit.

We Believe that:

  • The educational environment in each individual district is enhanced by cooperation
  • Ethical competition creates winners of all involved
  • Students are our primary customers
  • The quality of life is enhanced by the quality of education
  • Service is the reason for our existence
  • Every school district is unique
  • Communication is vital to success
  • Education is fundamental to a democratic way of life
  • The entire community has a responsibility to the educational process beyond taxes
  • People working together produce the best results

  • To make educational programs and services available on a regular basis.
  • To serve as a model of administrative practices which enable participating districts to analyze educational problems and devise solutions in an orderly, rational manner, and reallocate resources in order to achieve desirable educational results.
  • To make available resources of other organizations for the mutual benefit of the children, youth and adults of the participating districts.
