The Solid Waste Management 109 Board is the governing body for solid waste management activities in Grant County. The Board meets the third Saturday of every month at 7:30 a.m. in the Solid Waste Management office located in the basement of the Williamstown Post Office. Members of the 109 Board are: David Schmitt, Chair; Dr. Amy Roe, Secretary; Ken Stone, Dr. Fred Scheffler, Kim Martin, Leigh Simpson and Scot Lahner.

Please help us keep Grant County a clean and green community -never litter! Road Side Litter Pick-up can be organized through this office. If you see anyone littering or dumping materials alongside our roads or streams, record the license plate number and a description of the vehicle and report it to the Solid Waste Office at 824-3050.

Mission Statement :

The mission of the Grant County Solid Waste Management District is to protect the health and safety of the residents of the County through environmental monitoring and analysis of air and water quality; to ensure regulatory compliance of all solid waste management facilities located within the County; to assist educators in implementing environmental education in the local schools; to educate and provide information to all residents concerning the proper handling of all classifications of waste; to coordinate, manage, and oversee all community and special clean up events; and to provide for adequate and affordable solid waste collection and disposal services.

The Director is committed to public health and conservation and preservation of the environment through education, innovation, team-work and community involvement. Additionally, the Director is responsible for overseeing all regulatory issues regarding the solid waste management program.
