TransCare began service in 1998 as a joint ven¬ture between St. Elizabeth and SL Luke hospitals. TransCare is the result of merging services of the former Grant County EMS, St Elizabeth, ALS and Northern Kentucky EMS.
Currently. TransCare provides emergency 911 services to the citizens of Grant County, except for the area covered by the Dry Ridge Fire Department,
TransCare offers a subscription emergency ser¬vice.
TransCare also responds to mutual aid calls for service to tfher local fire departments including those in Dry Ridge. Owen and Pendleton counties.
TransCare operates one ALS emergency ambu¬lance comprised of one paramedic and one EMT on a 24/7 basis. TransCare also operates one on-call back up emergency ambulance typically comprised of two EMTS. TransCare also operates a non-emer¬gency transportation service.
TransCare of Kentucky provides ambulance transportation and emergency Paramedic services 24 hours a day, 7 days per week to the Kenton County Cities of Fort Mitchell, Fort Wright, Ludlow & Bromley, Grant County (except for the City of Dry Ridge).
TransCare’s Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics serve more than 328,000 residents plus others who work in and travel through Northern Kentucky
