AmeriStop was founded in 1967. From 1967 to 2000 AmeriStop retail locations were primarily franchisee owned locations with Ohio Valley, AFM as the franchisor. Through acquisitions, the AmeriStop store count has grown from 113 locations in 2000 to 140 in 2004. There are currently 55 company owned locations and 85 franchise owned.
AmeriStop operates three different retail formats under the banners of AmeriStop Market, AmeriStop Express, and AmeriStop Express Drive-Thru.
AmeriStop Market:
All locations have soft serve ice cream, lottery, money orders, pre-paid cellular, and gift cards. Many have fuel facilities.
AmeriStop Express:
All locations have lottery, money orders, pre-paid cellular, and gift cards. All have branded fuel including Shell, Exxon, and BP.
AmeriStop Express Drive-Thru:
These locations also have lottery, money orders, pre-paid cellular, and gift cards. In addition, the buying power of AmeriStop also allows us to carry milk, bread, Icee and many grocery items.
